About MPCFPD

The Madhya Pradesh state chapter of the Chess Federation for Physically Disabled (CFPD India)

Who We Are

The Madhya Pradesh Chess Federation for Physically Disabled (MPCFPD) is the official state unit of CFPD India, the national federation for para chess registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Rules, 1978.

CFPD India is affiliated with the All India Chess Federation (AICF), recognised by the Paralympic Committee of India, and partnered with the International Physically Disabled Chess Association (IPCA) — which means our players' results count, from district halls in Madhya Pradesh all the way to FIDE-rated world events.

What We Do

  • Register and maintain the official database of physically disabled chess players of MP
  • Scrutinise disability documents (UDID) so every player competes in the right category, fairly
  • Issue official MPCFPD ID cards accepted at all CFPD events
  • Organise district qualifiers and the MP State Para Chess Championship
  • Send qualified players to CFPD National Championships and FIDE-rated events with travel support
  • Run coaching camps and UDID guidance desks in partnership with district disability welfare offices

Our Vision

To make chess accessible to every para chess player across Madhya Pradesh and build an inclusive platform where talent rises beyond limitations — recognised nationally and globally.

हमारा लक्ष्य: मध्य प्रदेश के हर दिव्यांग शतरंज खिलाड़ी तक शतरंज पहुँचाना।

Our Mission

  • Identify and develop para chess talent in all 55 districts of MP
  • Contribute to CFPD India's national goal — 50% of India's para chess players FIDE-registered by 2030
  • Promote accessibility, dignity and fair play in every event we run

Who Can Join?

Registration is open to residents of Madhya Pradesh with a benchmark disability of 40% or above (50% or above for CFPD National Championships) under clause 2(zc) of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016, in the categories of locomotor disability, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, acid attack victims and leprosy-cured persons. A valid UDID card (or government disability certificate) is mandatory — see Disabilities We Cover for full details.
